Raymond GhelardiRaymond Ghelardi has spent over thirty years in the financial services/accounting industry as an expert in the valuation of privately held companies. He is former Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of the second largest independent valuation firm in the nation. He has served in senior executive positions at a number of major national accounting and investment consulting firms. Prior to his career in finance, he spent a decade as a city planner and environmental activist, having served on the advisory staff of the Massachusetts Secretary of Environmental Affairs and as an officer in the New England Chapter of the Sierra Club. He holds a B.S. from Penn State, a Masters from Harvard and an MBA from Emory University. He is a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Ray is Chairman of the NSVC Board.

Mary Ellen SnyderMary Ellen Snyder is Co-Founder of the Earthwalk USA map and the National Scenic Visitors Center. Her AT&T career included serving as National Account Manager, leading teams through an international Oracle implementation, and managing the Enterprise Project Management team at Agere. A Public Director on the Board of the Lehigh County Conservation District, she served as Chair for 8 years. Ms. Snyder attended Brown University and Indiana University; she earned her Master’s Certificate in Project Management from Stevens Institute and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI. She’s also served as a staffer at national magazines, operated a daycare home, drove a city bus, and worked for several Congressmen in Washington DC. A passionate environmentalist, she initiated several successful public service projects to preserve or restore natural resources in Illinois and Pennsylvania, and received the AT&T Enviromental Award. She is Secretary-Treasurer of the NSVC Board and Executive Director of the organization.

Matt KambicMatt Kambic is Co-Founder of the National Scenic Visitors Center and Earthwalk USA map. Matt has worked for several decades as a creative professional. His client portfolio includes projects for Disney, The National Robotics Engineering Center, Carnegie Mellon University, The Magic Woods TV program, Robomatter, and Kennywood Amusement Park. He has served in roles as producer, writer, designer, filmmaker, educator, illustrator and musician. Kambic is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (B.S., Studio Arts). He served on the Board of Directors for the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association, is an Eagle Scout, avid outdoors person and profound appreciator of maps. Until 2013 a Pittsburgh resident, Matt currently resides in New Zealand. He is Vice Chair of the NSVC Board.

Phil ReederPhil Reeder is past Dean of Duquesne University’s Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Science. His research and areas of expertise focus on environmental change, paleo-climate and landscape evolution; environmental education, sustainability and the human role in environmental change; and paleo-environments, geoarchaeology and cultural landscape evolution. Prior to joining the Bayer School as Dean, Dr. Reeder served as Director of the Environmental Science and Policy Program in the College of Arts and Sciences, Geography Department, at the University of Southern Florida. Dr. Reeder’s work has appeared in the Journal of Cave and Karst Studies, Focus on Geography, Professional Geographer and Geoarchaeology & Karst: A New Perspective. He earned his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, his master’s degree in Geography from Western Kentucky University, and his B.S. in Earth Science from Frostburg State University.

Waverly WalkerWaverly Walker has more than 20 years of progressive experience in business/technical relationship management, business/systems analysis and software testing and project/program management. Waverly’s experience includes program management, managing several project management and business analysis teams and directing complex, cross-departmental software development initiatives. She’s skilled at establishing effective communication between technical and user communities, providing status and issue resolution reporting to executive management, finding innovative solutions and identifying process improvements and recognizing new business opportunities. Waverly has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and a B.B.A, International Business, George Washington University.

Dan BeaupréDan Beaupré was Vice President, Experiences in the Education & Children’s Media division of the National Geographic Society. He lead National Geographic’s experience-based programs, including the National Geographic Bee, the Great Nature Project, Field Scope, and Bio blitz citizen science projects, National Geographic Live Student Matinees, Giant Traveling Maps, and student challenges, including the annual NG Guinness World Record. He is a former classroom teacher and curriculum writer for several PBS productions. Beaupre is the recipient of awards and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Danish-American Fulbright Commission, and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. In 1998 he received the Distinguished Teacher Award from the White House. Beaupre graduated with honors with a B.A. in History from the University of Vermont, and has a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Harvard University.

Bill RoyerBill Royer has worked in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Maryland, with additional executive education at the University of Virginia and Duke University. Bill serves as chair of his Township’s Zoning Hearing Board, Director for the County Conservation District, and United Way’s Compass School Council.

She was previously business development manager for Facility Support Services, LLC, in Pittsburgh, PA which provides general construction and renovation services for commercial, federal, and Department of Defense agencies in the Mid-Atlantic region.
